The belief

The bottleneck moved. Almost nobody moved with it.

For thirty years, the scarce thing in software was people who could write it. That scarcity set who got to build, who got funded, and whose problems got solved. It is ending. What replaced it is a quieter kind of scarcity, and far fewer people are talking about it.

    Making software stopped being the hard part.

    One person with an idea and an afternoon can now produce a working application. That used to take a funded team a quarter. The barrier that kept most people out — knowing how to write the code — is coming down fast, and it is not going back up.

    Knowing it works is still the hard part.

    Software that runs is not software that holds. The difference is engineering: stating precisely what you meant, checking the thing you built against it, and finding what breaks before a customer does. None of that got cheaper, faster, or easier to reach. It still lives inside companies that can afford to hire it.

    So the gap did not close. It moved.

    We did not democratise software. We democratised the first draft. Everything after it — the rigor that turns a working demo into something you would put your name on — is still gated by money, credentials, and knowing someone who has done it before.

Proof over reassurance

A green check nobody can inspect is marketing. Everything we build shows its work: what was checked, how it was checked, and what it could not tell you. Trust you cannot audit is just a nicer kind of guessing.

Plain language is the product

If you need a computer science degree to understand what our tools are telling you, we have rebuilt the gate we set out to remove. Every finding gets written so the person who has to act on it can act on it.

Rigor should be boring

Serious engineering should not feel like a ceremony or a privilege. It should be the default — running quietly, on by itself, costing you nothing to keep. The moment it needs discipline to maintain, most people stop.

We build for the one

Not the platform team. Not the enterprise buyer with a procurement cycle. The single person who has to be the engineer, the designer, and the support desk before lunch. Design for them and the teams follow. It does not work the other way round.
